Arun Panda, senior journalist, passes away

On Monday, seasoned journalist Arun Panda passed away at his CDA home in Cuttack. When he took his final breath, he was 76 years old.

Panda received a cancer diagnosis and spent the last two months receiving treatment at Acharya Harihar Cancer Centre.

In 1984, Panda began working as a journalist for a prestigious Odia daily newspaper. He was widely recognised in the State as a distinguished and courageous journalist. He has served as the newspaper’s special representative in a number of districts, including Cuttack.

Panda was affiliated with numerous socio-cultural organisations in addition to journalism. In addition, he wrote regular columns for numerous Odia newspapers. Additionally, he had established himself as a skilled orator.

After Panda’s tragic death, a pall of sadness fell over the state and among the journalist fraternities. Numerous notable individuals, friends, family members, and media representatives gathered at Panda’s home to offer their final condolences to the deceased person.
