Chilika MLA Prashant Jagdev has been admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. Jagdev was detained on May 25 on suspicion of overturning an electronic voting machine (EVM) during the third phase of voting in Odisha.
According to reports, Jagdev was admitted to the hospital after his health declined while he was incarcerated. According to reliable sources, he is receiving treatment in the SCB Medicine ward’s intensive care unit.
Despite Jagdev’s arrest, a large number of residents in Khordha district’s Kaunripatana village, which is part of Bolagarh block, asserted that the accusations made against the MLA had political motivations.
In addition, the arrest of Jagdev has sparked anger among the community, who have expressed dissatisfaction and called for a conspiracy by the ruling party.
When it was claimed that the MLA had tampered with the electronic voting machine on Saturday, he and his spouse had gone to a booth to cast their votes. Jagdev was taken to the reserve police camp after being detained by police in Begunia on the basis of a complaint filed by the presiding officer.
