While operating a private bus, Adriver suffered a heart attack. However, he used presence of mind to save the lives of other passengers before he passed away. He slammed the bus up against a guard wall of a roadside culvert, bringing it to a complete stop and saving a serious accident.
The incidence was reported by G Udayagiri in the district of Kandhamal.
A source claims that on Friday night, at approximately 8.30 p.m., a private bus carrying more than 20 people departed Saranggada for Bhubaneswar, just like any other day. The driver was none other than Sana Pradhan.
The bus was travelling on Paburia Road, with Bhanjanagar as its next stop. It had just been three km from Paburia when Sana took an unusual turn with the car. The bus attendant, Kalia, sensed something wasn’t right and attempted to get in touch with the driver.
However, Sana stopped the bus before he could get to her, as the latter slammed it up against a guard wall of a wayside culvert. When Kalia got to the driver’s seat, she discovered Sana had passed out.
Somehow, the 108 ambulance was called, and Sana was taken to the government hospital in Tikabali, which is nearby. But the medical staff there pronounced him deceased.
Dr. Jyotiranjan Jena, the medical officer of Tikabali Hospital, stated, “He was received dead,” when reached on his cell phone. Although the post-mortem report can determine the precise cause, we believe that a heart attack was the cause of his death.
The drivers was complimented by the passengers for exercising composure before giving in, as it would have changed the course of events.
