On Thursday, odia scientist Subodh Kumar Nayak assumed leadership of the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) in Chandipur, Balasore, as the Director of Proof and Experimental Establishment (PXE).
On January 19, the DRDO Chandipur appointed Nayak.
Nayak, who was up in the Sambalpur district, graduated from Burla’s Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) with a B.Tech in mechanical engineering. He earned his M.Tech in aerospace engineering from IIT-Mumbai.
Nayak finished his fellowship at the Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT)-Pune in September 1994, at which point he joined the DRDO-Pune as a research scientist. After then, he shown his talent on other projects in various roles and positions.
The Proof & Experimental Establishment is located 15 kilometers from Balasore city in Chandipur, Odisha, on the Bay of Bengal coast. It is the DRDO’s first establishment. On November 7, 1895, the first firing occurred.
The seashore in Chandipur offers the perfect setting for a proof range. Its crescent-shaped coastline, which faces southwest, makes it easier to fire into the sea without endangering human population. However, the trajectory never deviates far enough from the coast to make it challenging to observe projectile behavior.
