Following talks with the chief minister of Odisha on Friday, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that 315 special trains will connect Puri during this Rath Yatra.
“With the chief minister of Odisha and two deputy chief ministers, a discussion was held regarding the facilities to be provided by the Railway Department.” An increased number of special trains compared to the previous year—315—were decided to operate to and from Puri. Nearly every topic will be covered. The Railway Minister announced that a large tent with space for 15,000 passengers would be erected close to the station.
The Rath Yatra falls on July 7 this year.
