Odisha’s traffic posts may soon lose their red lights; the government is preparing backup plans.

On Tuesday, Krushna Chandra Mahapatra, the minister of housing and urban development for Odisha, announced that the government is working on alternative ideas to remove the red lights from traffic signals.

On Tuesday, there was a review meeting in this regard in Bhubaneswar.

Mahapatra also disclosed that the construction of approach roads and overbridges will take the place of traffic posts with red lights. After this, commuters might not have to endure hours of traffic delays.

Mahapatra added that a decision in this regard will be made shortly after departmental discussions.
