On June 18 and 19, newly elected MLAs will take an oath; Odisha Assembly security has been tightened.

A three-tiered security system has been installed at the state capital’s Odisha Assembly in advance of the newly elected MLAs’ oath-taking ceremony. Starting tomorrow, on June 18 and 19, all newly elected MLAs will take an oath of office. Afterwards, on June 20, there will be a speaker election.

Senior Odisha Police officials, including DGP Arun Sarangi and Twin City Police Commissioner Sanjeeb Panda, reviewed the security arrangements on Monday in light of the special three-day session.

This Vidhan Sabha session will mark the establishment of the New BJP Government in Odisha. Eight platoon forces and at least 75 senior police officers have been sent in to ensure that the oath-taking ceremony goes off without a hitch.
