An Air India Express flight had to make an emergency landing after one of its engines caught fire.

A fire in one of the engines forced the Air India Express flight from Bengaluru to Kochi to make a full emergency landing at Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL).

The reports claimed that shortly after takeoff, a fire was discovered, and the crew members informed the air traffic controller.

“As flames were seen emanating from the right engine after takeoff, the Bengaluru- Kochi flight elected to return and carried out a precautionary landing at Bengaluru on Saturday night. The ground services also reported flames, resulting in an evacuation,” stated a spokeswoman for Air India.

“The guests were all safely evacuated by the crew without any casualties. The representative stated, “We are sorry for any trouble this has caused and are working to create alternative arrangements so that our passengers may get to their destination as quickly as possible.
