Odisha’s thunderstorm activity is expected to persist, with Koraput recording the highest rainfall: IMD

People in Odisha have finally let out a huge sigh of relief after the past few days’ Nor’westerly rains caused a significant drop in the state’s maximum temperature.

Manorama Mohanty, the director of IMD Bhubaneswar, announced on Wednesday that Malkangiri had the highest maximum temperature of 39.3 degrees, while Koraput district had the highest rainfall of 24 mm over the previous 24 years. According to her, the maximum temperature in Odisha currently ranges from 25 to 39 degrees, and there is no chance that it will rise any higher over the next four to five days.

Certain areas of Odisha are expected to witness thunderstorm activity with lightning and strong winds during the next five days. According to Mohanty, there will probably be more rain starting tomorrow, with a higher intensity on May 10.
